“Our employees are the best in the business” isn’t just our slogan. In fact, it’s only a small glimpse into just how much we value our team. From assisting with infrastructure at St. Vincent’s hospital to helping create the Duval County courthouse, our employees work tirelessly to enhance our community. We believe in promoting progress and choose to celebrate our recently promoted project managers that always perform exceptionally and admirably. We have the utmost gratitude for all the dedication the following employees have shown, time and time again, when it comes to our company, clients and community.
Meet John Fields, Head of Healthcare Project Management
John Fields has been with WW Gay since 1990, and has notable involvement in our hospital and clinic projects. John cites his most memorable moments on the job as being involved with completing the 8-story patient tower renovation at Baptist South, installing the cross on the top of St. Vincent’s Medical Center, becoming the project manager for Mayo Clinic and helping build the Main Branch of Jacksonville Public Library.
John is a graduate of UNF, where he majored in Construction Technology. As the Head Project Manager of Healthcare, he will help develop and implement new processes to enhance efficiency and consistency for our company’s future projects.
“I’m excited,” he commented. “It’s a new direction for our company. I’m excited to have a chance to influence what we do and bring new ideas for our project managers to help elevate them.”
His favorite Mr. Gay quote is the famous proverb “Just load the wagon, don’t worry about the horse”.
In his leisure time, John enjoys playing golf or spending time with friends and family. He is a proud supporter of Jacksonville’s sports teams, as a fan of both the Jaguars and the Icemen.
“The glass tends to look half full instead of half empty,” John had to say. For anyone aspiring to pursue a career like his, John recommends to be future-minded, honest, and always follow through.
Meet Keith Griffin, Head of Military Project Management
Since 1989, Keith Griffin has provided exemplary service to W.W. Gay. Keith has completed many projects with us, particularly those involved in the military sector, such as: NAS Jacksonville, NAS Mayport, Kings Bay Submarine Base, Camp Lejeune Marine Base and Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany. He credits his most memorable moment at the company to having been a part of completing infrastructure at Wolfson’s children’s hospital, and feeling a sense of pride when his own grandchildren were cared for at the same hospital he had a hand in building.
“I like what I do,” Keith had to say. Keith’s passion for his job is further demonstrated by the devotion to his trade, being a graduate from the northeast Florida Builders’ Association Plumbing Apprenticeship Program at FSCJ, and holding a Journeyman Plumbing License.
Keith is looking forward to the new challenges of the Federal and Military Department.
“They always say plumbing is the health of the nation.” He commented. “Plumbing is critical to public health and safety. I have always enjoyed working in the mechanical and plumbing trade as it has afforded me a good career.”
Keith’s most memorable moment of Mr. Gay are the way he is always available and very supportive of his employees and his community.
Keith is married to Peggy, has two children and five grandchildren. He is an outdoors enthusiast whose hobbies include camping, boating, fishing, trap, skeet and sporting clays, and hunting. He enjoys playing billiards, visiting springs, beaches, rivers and lakes. He also likes involving his family in his nature-oriented activities and aims to enjoy life as much as possible.
