Biography
William W. "Bill" Gay
Mr. Gay Founded W.W. Gay Mechanical Contractor Inc. in 1962 and serves as its Chief Executive Officer. He started his career in mechanical contracting as a part-time worker during his undergraduate days at University of Florida. He has more than sixty years experience in the commercial and industrial contracting business. He is a proud member and officer of numerous organizations, many of which extend beyond his professional and business interests.
Mr. Gay's civic and professional involvement is widespread. He is a native Floridian and resident of Jacksonville since 1939. Mr. Gay is very active in civic and community affairs. He is a graduate of the University of Florida where he earned a BSE degree in 1949. He and his wife, Eloise, have two daughters, two sons.
David D. Boree, PE
Serving as President of W.W. Gay Mechanical Contractor Inc. and with more than 30 years experience in both project design and construction, Mr. Boree began his contracting experience as a laborer working for W.W. Gay in the summers. His National Environmental Balancing Bureau (NEBB) certifications include air, hydronics, sound, vibration and commissioning.
His work experience includes Hospitals, Office Buildings, Retrofits, Industrial Projects, Steam Plants, Computer Facilities, Restaurants, Site Utilities, Parking Garages, Correction Facilities, Indoor Air Quality and Clean Room Testing.
He serves as a supervisor and proctor for (NEBB) in the areas of Test and Balance. He is Past President of Northeast Florida ASHRAE, NE Florida Engineering Society and State Chapter of (NEBB). He served as a Board member of the Association of General Contractors (ACG), JCCI, and PACE Center for Girls, Catholic Charities, JU Council and the Leukemia Lymphoma Society.
His current civic involvements include Jacksonville Rotary, University of Florida Mechanical Engineering Advisory Board, Gator Bowl Executive Committee/Secretary and UNF Engineering Advisory Council.
Mr. Boree received the State of Florida "Young Engineer of the Year" Award, issued by the Florida Engineering Society and the National Association of Professional Engineers. He graduated from the University of Florida where he earned his Mechanical Engineering degree. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Florida, Georgia and Arkansas. He is a Certified Mechanical Contractor, Plumbing Contractor and a Specialty Contractor (Environmental Fuel Oil, tanks, etc.). Mr. Boree was born in Jacksonville and attended local Jacksonville Schools. His hobbies include boating, fishing, scuba diving, golf and snow skiing.
